Wedding Styling Trends Coming in the 2026/2027 Season

September 16, 2026 / by Sarah Smith / Leave a Comment

Wedding styling is becoming more personal, expressive and experience-driven, and the 2026/2027 wedding season is set to be no different. Couples are moving beyond traditional wedding décor and creating celebrations that feel considered, individual and completely their own.

If you’re planning a Perth wedding, here are some of the wedding styling and design trends we expect to see everywhere.

Bold, Beautiful Colour

Neutral weddings will always have their place, but colour is making a confident comeback. Rich burgundy, chocolate, plum, butter yellow and jewel tones are being paired with softer neutrals for a sophisticated yet expressive look.

Colour doesn’t have to mean going all out. Introduce it through florals, linens, glassware, stationery or candles for a more subtle approach.

Statement Draping

Draping is set to be a major feature in wedding design, transforming blank spaces and creating beautiful focal points.

From ceremony backdrops and arched entrances to draped reception spaces and feature walls, fabric can add softness, movement and a sense of luxury to a venue.

It’s also a clever way to completely transform a space and make your styling feel more intentional.

Statement Florals

Florals are becoming a major design feature rather than simply an accessory. Think sculptural arrangements, asymmetrical installations, statement ceremony pieces and flowers with plenty of movement and texture.

All-white floral arrangements are coming into style with their timeless, elegant and incredibly versatile vibe. From bridal bouquets and ceremony installations to reception centrepieces, white florals create a sophisticated and luxurious feel. Pairing white blooms with greenery, textured foliage and candlelight can add depth while keeping the overall look clean and refined.

For Perth weddings, native and textural elements can also create a beautiful connection to the local landscape.

Garden Weddings

Romantic garden weddings are set to be a favourite for the 2026/2027 season. Natural surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for an elegant celebration, with lush greenery, beautiful florals and soft, natural styling creating an effortlessly romantic atmosphere.

Think outdoor ceremonies, garden receptions, beautiful lawn spaces and styling that works with the natural surroundings rather than competing with them.

Atmospheric Wedding Lighting

Lighting is becoming just as important as florals and styling when it comes to creating the right atmosphere.

Warm candlelight, soft festoon lighting, statement chandeliers and strategically placed uplighting can transform a space as the sun goes down. Couples are using lighting to create intimate dining experiences, highlight architectural features and bring their reception styling to life after dark.

The right lighting can take a beautiful wedding design and make it feel truly magical.

Layered Tablescapes

Reception tables are becoming an experience in themselves. Expect to see textured linens, coloured glassware, candles, sculptural vessels, unique menus and carefully considered place settings layered together to create depth.

The result? Tables that feel luxurious, inviting and incredibly photogenic.

Personalised Wedding Design

One of the biggest trends for 2026/2027 is moving away from following a specific “wedding aesthetic” and instead creating a design that tells your story.

From custom stationery and monograms to meaningful colours, flowers and details, couples are choosing elements that feel personal rather than simply popular.
